  1. Recruitment adverts disclosing pay means employers want to select applicants based on talent and not based on how little they are willing to work for
  2. This means you must submit a strong application, write a powerful internship cover letter
  3. Use key words relevant to the position you are applying for
  4. Attach your qualifications and references.  List everything you attach in your cover letter as people sometimes lose information.
  5. Make a video, use your phone.
    1. Not more than 30 seconds long
    2. Stand or sit where there’s a lot of light
    3. Make sure there’s not much background noise, speak clearly
    4. Look like you were born for the position
    5. Upload to Youtube, include the link in your cover letter
    6. Introduce yourself, talk about the contribution you’d like to make but don’t sound like an activist (makes government nervous). Be enthusiastic about starting a career in government and serving the country. Or don’t frikkin apply! We need responsible and moral people in government who can get rid of the deadbeats.
    7. Refer to the DHET vision

Our vision is of a South Africa in which we have a differentiated and fully-inclusive post-school system that allows South Africans to access relevant post-school education and training, in order to fulfill the economic and social goals of participation in an inclusive economy and society.” DHET
